Terms & Conditions for Function Room Hire at The Rising Sun Inn

These terms and conditions govern the hire of the function room at The Rising Sun Inn.

By confirming a booking, the hirer agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.

 

1. Booking and Payment

• Deposit: A deposit of 50% of the total cost is required upon confirmation of the booking.
   

• Payment Schedule: The remaining 50% is due at least 14 days before the event.
   

• Last Minute Bookings: Bookings made 14 days or less before the event require full payment upon confirm
   

• Cancellation by Hirer: The deposit is non-refundable if the hirer cancels less than 14 days or more before the event: 
   

• Cancellation by The Rising Sun Inn: The Rising Sun can cancel any booking at their discretion.  In the event of this payments made will be refunded in full.

2. Hirer's Responsibilities.

• Use of the Venue: The room must be used only for the agreed purpose. Prohibited activities include those deemed dangerous, offensive, or illegal.
   

• Capacity: The number of guests must not exceed the room's maximum capacity.
   

• Timings: Agreed start and end times must be strictly followed.
   

• Fire Safety: Fire exits must remain clear. Evacuation procedures must be followed in case of a fire alarm.
   

• Supervision: Children must be supervised at all times.
   

• Alcohol and Food: Outside alcohol and catering is prohibited as food and beverages will be supplied by The Rising Sun Inn.
   

• Decorations: No alterations should be made to the premises without authority. Prohibited items include blue tack, sticky tape, and items affixed with bolts or nails.
   

• Prohibited Items: Naked flames, inflammable articles, and anything producing an offensive smell are not allowed without consent.
   

• Conduct: The hirer is responsible for attendees' behaviour and the proper use of the premises. The venue has a zero-tolerance policy for illegal activities, vandalism, and rude behaviour.
   

• Smoking: Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside. Designated outdoor areas are available. A £100 penalty fee will be charged for smoking inside.

3. General

• Force Majeure: The Rising Sun Inn is not liable for failures due to circumstances beyond their control, such as acts of God or pandemics.
   

• Liability: The Rising Sun Inn is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property.
   

• Governing Law: These terms are governed by English law, and English courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
